Become a Visionary

Imagine the thousands of parents and children Door of Hope will serve in the next 50 years – the jobs gained, the careers launched, the savings built, the healing begun, the housing found, the faith born. It’s remarkable to think that your decision today could have a profound impact on a family we don’t yet know. But that’s the magic of “legacy giving.”

When you leave a legacy gift, you become part of our Community of Vision.

We’re so grateful for our Visionaries!

“Jesus tells us to feed the hungry, care for the sick, and show love to our neighbors. That’s why in addition to our annual financial support, we are pleased to make a substantial contribution from our eventual estate to Door of Hope.” Dick & Darlene Kleinert

“Vision with action makes a powerful reality.”
– Ron Kaufman

You Can Make an Estate Gift in Your Will

Special Bequest – This allows you to determine exactly what you want to leave to Door of Hope, either a specific dollar amount or a particular asset/piece of real estate.

Residuary Bequest – This allows you to designate that Door of Hope receives all or a specific portion of the remainder of your estate once all specific bequests and obligations have been paid.

Contingent Bequest – This allows a gift to Door of Hope to be fulfilled if certain conditions are met (e.g., if your primary beneficiary does not survive you, you can select a contingent beneficiary).

In addition to making a lasting difference in the lives of others, your bequest to Door of Hope may offer tax savings because it is deductible from your gross estate, providing your estate is large enough to require the filing of a state or federal estate tax return.

One Sentence in Your Will can Make an Eternal Difference

To leave a gift in your will, simply share one sentence with your attorney or financial planner:

Endowment: I hereby bequeath to Door of Hope, a 501(c)3 organization in Pasadena, CA, (Federal Tax ID: 95-4044568), the sum of $ __________ or ________% of my Estate for its permanent Endowment Fund.

A restricted legacy gift to our permanent Endowment Fund will provide sustainable income to Door of Hope in perpetuity.

Unrestricted: I hereby bequeath to Door of Hope, a 501(c)3 organization in Pasadena, CA, (Federal Tax ID: 95-4044568), the sum of $ __________ or ________% of my Estate for its Operating Fund.

An unrestricted legacy gift to our Operating Fund will be used for our most urgent needs the year it is realized.

Beneficiary Designation
