Everything You Need to Know About In-Kind Donations

Thank you for considering making an in-kind donation to Door of Hope! We are overwhelmed by the support of our community and humbly acknowledge that we could not accomplish our mission without your partnership. Whether you donate cleaning supplies or kitchen appliances, these items directly contribute to empowering Door of Hope families.

New Items (High Priority)

Contribute to organizational needs by fulfilling a Wish-List request:

  • Setting up a new home requires quite an effort. When families complete our program and transition to their new homes, we aim to provide them with some essential housewarming gifts! Take a look at our Amazon Graduate Wishlist!
  • Families residing in our transitional shelters require everyday supplies to meet their needs. Take a look at our Amazon Program Wishlist.
  • Join a team that fulfills specific, time-sensitive requests for our families. If you would like to be called when the need arises, we will add you to our 911 Wish-List directory. Let us know by emailing volunteer@doorofhope.us.

The shipping address will be populated already when ordering through the wishlist, at:

Door of Hope
221 East Walnut St. Suite 112
Pasadena, CA 91101

When you purchase an Amazon Wish-List item, please email volunteer@doorofhope.us indicating both your name and the item purchased. Simply attach the Amazon order confirmation. This is helpful because we then know when to expect items and it also helps us send you an acknowledgment receipt.

ACTS Thrift Store - Donations Support our Families

Due to our limited storage capacity, there are a certain amount of used items we can accept. We recommend donating items we cannot accept to one of our partners, ACTS Thrift Store, in Pasadena and Duarte. When you donate on behalf of Door of Hope, the families receive store credit and can shop for themselves.

ACTS Thrift Store in Pomona will accept furniture and pick it up. They want to make sure it is in reasonable condition, so they ask that you send pictures of what you want to donate before they agree to pick it up.  ACTS does pick-ups once a week, on Wednesday, so it may take a few weeks to get on their schedule for furniture pick-up. Please call (909) 491-3199 for more information. Again, please tell ACTS that you are donating on behalf of Door of Hope.
