Other Ways To Give

Partners who give monthly, at any amount, help us sustain vital programs and services all year long, particularly in slow giving seasons when program costs remain steady but monthly income is slow. Sustainers are part of our Community of Vision.

Become an Ambassador. Partners who make a multi-year pledge strengthen the long-term financial sustainability of the mission so we can boldly plan for the future. Partners who pledge $1,000 or more per year, for three years, become part of our Community of Vision.

Corporate matching gifts are a type of giving in which companies financially match donations that their employees make to nonprofit organizations. Companies of all sizes match donations because it’s an easy, structured way for them to support good work in their communities.

Does your company match? Simply type the name of your company in the donation form to see if your employer will match your donation.

When you make a donation, you can request a matching gift from your employer (if they offer this program), who then makes their own donation. Companies usually match donations at a 1:1 ratio, but some will match at a 2:1, 3:1, or even a 4:1 ratio!

In effect, your gift will go twice as far!
Take advantage of the many tax benefits of donating stock:

— no long-term cap gain tax on your donated shares

— tax deduction for the full market value of your donated shares

To donate shares, please fill out and email the form to us to let us know to look out of for your stock donation.  Email:  donorcare@doorofhope.us

If you are currently using a donor-advised fund for your charitable giving, consider designating Door of Hope as a grant recipient.

A donor-advised fund is a philanthropic giving vehicle in which an individual deposits contributions without choosing a specific recipient right away. When you, the donor, decide on a recipient, you can send the money from the account to the nonprofit organization as a grant.
If you are 70½ or older and you have a traditional IRA, you are eligible to make a tax effective donation to a charity directly from your IRA, even if you do not itemize deductions on your tax return. This donation is called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) and it uses funds that you’re already required by law to withdraw from your IRA that otherwise would be taxed. It’s a simple but highly effective way to support Door of Hope while minimizing the tax bite associated with IRA distributions.
